Your story
can be on any subject. It can be aimed at children, it
can be a ghost story, it can be a love story, a horror
story, a true life story.
Count the
words in your short story before you submit it and write
the exact number at the top of the story.
We cannot
return any text, discs or pictures. So always keep copies.
We will examine
your short story and respond to you. Give us an e-mail
address or a landline phone number, so we can contact
you as soon as possible. If we like your short story,
we will contact you and tell you that we want to accept
it for publication.
If you have
problems with presentation or spelling and grammar, advise
us in a covering letter and we will be able to help you.

has a gift for storytelling. Because of this, we provide
a support service for writers to prepare their stories
for publication. When we have read your short story we
will consider it and decide whether it can be published
in a forthcoming short story anthology.
When - and

alongside other talented UK writers, we will contact you.
At this stage, the £89 fee will be due (make cheques
payable to United Press). This payment will ensure that
your short story:
